LIVING IN AOTEA
Aotea has the advantage of feeling like a neighbourhood without feeling far away from it all.
You're up above central Porirua, with established homes, reserves and walkways around the neighbourhood and everyday essentials close by. Head down the hill and you've got supermarkets, shops, cafés, sports facilities and Porirua Station; head the other way and you're quickly connected to Whitby and Pāuatahanui.
And yes, the elevated position means there's a pretty good view from up here too.

Schools + early learning
There's a useful mix of education options around Aotea.
Aotea College is right in the suburb on Okowai Road and provides secondary education from Years 9–15. Papakōwhai School, a state Years 1–8 full primary, is nearby in Papakōwhai.
There are also a number of early childhood services across Aotea, Papakōwhai and the wider Porirua area.
Supermarkets and daily essentials
One of the handy things about Aotea is that everyday errands don't mean you have to go far.
With a major supermarket just down the hill and only 2km away. For more retail options, central Porirua has several supermarkets and the wider retail around North City and Porirua MegaCentre only 4km away.

Having previously built a home with a different company, what struck us most as being different this time was just how much Classic Builders kept us involved in the process. Whether it was helping us to pick out the various colours, fixtures and other features, or providing frank advice on potential addition, or just the regular updates on progress, we felt far more connected to the build process. The documentation package given to us upon settlement was also far more comprehensive, and included electronic versions of everything (including instructions and warranties for all the myriad components of the build).

Built 2 homes with Classic Builders Wgtn. Although I initially had lots of questions, the sales process was really supportive and informative...nothing was in the too hard basket (thankfully).
During the builds I had many on-site catch ups with the construction managers and occasionally with the builders, they all knew their stuff, were professional, polite and informative. The build quality is amazing, a number of our friends have commented just how good the quality is.
Although we built through winter, the second house was finished a month ahead of schedule!! This is a reflection of a well oiled machine supported by really good processes and tradies.
