Supporting Healthier Homes Across NZ

At Classic Builders, we believe a well-built home does more than provide comfort, it plays an important role in the health and wellbeing of the people living in it.

That’s why we’ve partnered with the Asthma and Respiratory Foundation NZ (ARFNZ) as a Gold Partner, supporting their work to raise awareness of how housing quality can impact respiratory health.

Why this matters

Around one million New Zealanders are affected by respiratory conditions, and research continues to show a strong link between housing conditions and health outcomes — particularly for children and older Kiwis.

As we head into the colder months, homes that are cold, damp, or poorly ventilated can contribute to respiratory issues and even hospitalisations. It’s an ongoing challenge for health professionals, who often see patients recover, only to return to environments that worsen their condition.

This is where better housing can make a real difference.

Our role

Our partnership with ARFNZ is about helping more people understand what makes a home healthier, and why it matters.

Warmth, ventilation, and dryness aren’t just features of a home, they’re essential to creating a healthier living environment. Through this partnership, we’re supporting efforts to:

  • Raise awareness of the connection between housing and health
  • Encourage informed decisions when it comes to homes
  • Contribute to better health outcomes for New Zealand families
