When Naomi wandered into a Classic Builders Showhome while visiting her parents in Omokoroa, she was beginning to think her search for a home of her own within her budget was unlikely to be successful.
After spending some time with Classic Builders Building Consultant, Errol, Naomi’s fortunes changed and the perfect House and Land package became available within Naomi’s budget and a stone’s throw from her parents place. A few months later, Naomi, her partner and her dog Zoe, were living their dream in beautiful Omokoroa.
The initial stages of the process were overseen by Building Consultant, Errol, “when I mentioned that I had purchased a house off the plan, everyone kept asking if I was stressed and I kept responding, no should I be? Because the contract process ran so smoothly. Errol was so helpful and kept within my budget."
The true hero of Naomi’s home build story is Classic Builders’ Construction Manager, Sam, "a week prior to the build Sam visited the site and decided that I could get a lot more out of my land if we changed the layout. All of the changes took place and I’m so grateful that he made it all happen without me having to do much at all."
Communication is key to the entire process. Naomi was originally living a 40-minute drive from her new home, but Construction Manager Sam made sure Naomi knew everything that was going on using technology and meeting Naomi out on site on the weekends. “Sam would send me weekly updates that were amazing. At the start of the build Sam sent me a schedule with dates and I knew when everything was happening. I think that’s why I wasn’t stressed!’ He sent pictures, emails and texts and he took me through the house to position all my appliances to my preference.”
Along with the rest of the country, a looming lockdown threatened to derail the timelines but to Naomi’s surprise, it barely had any effect at all.
Now Naomi and her partner are settled in their home with their dog Zoe and a baby on the way, Naomi reflects on her lifestyle in her home "the layout suits us perfectly and I was really happy with the design decisions which are perfect for entertaining visitors and family who visit often."
When asked what Naomi would advise other first home buyers who are feeling disheartened, Naomi shared some sage words, "don’t give up looking and be direct and honest about your budget so explore and go in and ask. I thought Classic Builders was out of my range because of the high-quality finish of their work but now I own a Classic Builders home."
