A core value we hold strong at Classic Builders is Care. A small word, that can mean a whole lot when you hold a company accountable to applying this value to their everyday actions and behaviours; we sweat the small stuff.
Recently an opportunity presented itself to call on this value and give back to the community by donating some appliances and other goods to local Bay of Plenty charity, Homes of Hope.
Renovations & upgrades to our Tauranga office meant we had some dishwashers, ovens, cooktops, rangehoods, toilets and laundry tubs sitting in storage. So, we reached out to Emil Vester, Operations Manager of Homes of Hope to see if his team could make use of these quality goods.
Homes of Hope provides foster care to children in need in the Bay of Plenty. They prevent siblings from being separated from each other and ensure they have a stable home together for as long as they need. They’ve established 3 homes with more in the pipeline, to use at any one time. Since its inception 15 years ago, they’ve had around 250 children through their door.
Emil was onsite to receive the goods which arrived just in time for some much-needed renovations they had planned for some of their homes. Local suppliers Tauranga Hardware and Plumbing and ABS Electrical heard about the cause and put their hands up to install the goods free of charge - a wonderful gesture and powerful example of how we can work together as one team to care for our community whanau.
We were humbled to be able to support this awesome charity and the tireless work they do for our children. No doubt we’ll be seeing them again very soon.
